6 Homemade Face Masks | Ariana's Beauty Corner

Hello my beautiful friends! Today I'm going to share with you some ideas for homemade masks that I tried and liked. So let's begin!
1.The Miracle Face Mask

This DIY mask, made of nutmeg, honey, and cinnamon, is calming and soothing for stressed-out skin-. In addition, it smells absolutely amazing!
The secret? Nutmeg and honey act as natural anti-inflammatories, which can reduce swelling and redness in skin. They’re also great for soothing acne scars and preventing infection. Furthermore, the nutmeg and cinnamon also work to exfoliate your skin when you wash this mask off.
Warning!!! Before you begin, it’s always a good idea to do a small test with homemade mixes on your skin to make sure you don’t have a bad reaction to any ingredients. So remember to do a quick test on sensitive skin, like the inside of your wrist, before applying this mask to your face.
To create the mask, mix 2 tablespoons of honey with a teaspoon of cinnamon and a teaspoon of nutmeg. The consistency should be like a thick paste. After it’s all mixed, apply the mask to your face and let it sit for 30 minutes. Wash it off with warm water, scrubbing softly in circular motion for exfoliation.

2.Avocado Face Mask

This is a nourishing, hydrating, pore-tightening and skin-clearing DIY face mask. Perfect for combination/oily and acne-prone skin.
To create this mask, you will need 1 ripped avocado, pitted, peeled and mashed, 1 egg white and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
In a small bowl, combine mashed avocado with egg white and lemon juice. Mix with a wooden spoon to make a smooth paste. After cleansing, apply face mask onto entire face except eye area for 20 minutes. Rinse and follow up your usual beauty routine (such as toner and moisturizer). The mask do not keep well and it is recommended to use it within a day.
Extra Tip: If you want, you can replace lemon juice with apple cider vinegar which gives more glowing skin.

3.Cucumber Face Mask

You can do much more with cucumbers than just add them to your salad or merely put them over your eyes while you try to get some beauty sleep.  Since cucumbers carry so many anti aging benefits, you should definitely make the most of them.
So what are we going to need? 1 cucumber, half a cup of yogurt and 1 spoon of milk powder.
First of all, you want to peel your cucumber and then cut it up into tiny little cubes. While you’re at it, you might as well get rid of the seeds too. When done, you want to put your pieces into a blender.  Add the yogurt. Add the milk powder. Then go ahead and blend away. You want to have a smooth and rather thick substance when done. Once you have your cucumber concoction, make sure that you have a clean, dry face to put it on. Washing your face and patting dry is definitely recommended before anything else. Then simply use your fingers to spread your homemade past evenly over your face and neck. Of course, you want to steer clear of the eye area. Let it sit for a good 10-15 minutes before you rinse. Cold water is the best. But if you simply must use warm, you should at least finish off with a splash of cold.  Remember that cold water closes your pores and tightens your skin. Finally, apply your moisture cream and you're ready.

4.Oat and Honey Face Mask

This cleansing, rejuvenating and very simple face mask is recommended especially for combination skin, but you can use it on most skin types. You will need oatmeal, honey and yogurt. I know. It sounds disgusting, but trust me it works. Then mix equal amounts of oatmeal and yogurt. Approximately a tablespoon of each is usually enough for one facial. Add a little bit of honey – just a teaspoonful. Mix well and apply on cleansed face. Leave on for at least ten minutes, wash off with warm water and remove any remains of the mask with a natural skin toner, such as rose water.

5.Coffee and Cocoa Face Mask

Coffee and cocoa masks have long been a favorite of beauty aficionados. As a combination, they decrease puffiness in the face and the eye area, brighten skin and wake up a dull-ish complexion (Oh hello caffeine!). You will need 4 tablespoons of cocoa powder, 4 tablespoons of  finely ground espresso or coffee beans, 8 tablespoons of dairy product. Choose whole milk, heavy cream, yogurt (must be unflavored!), almond milk or coconut milk. Use less dairy if you like a thicker paste. Try an egg instead of dairy if you are an egg mask lover, or substitute oils, such as olive oil, extra virgin cococnut oil or sweet almond oil if you have dehydrated skin.
Last but not least, you will need 2 tablespoons of honey (if you have dry skin) or lemon juice (if you have oily skin).
Now for the preparation. If you have whole beans, finely grind beans in a grinder. Remember, beans should be finely ground so they don't scratch your face. If you just made coffee, you can use the freshly brewed coffee grounds, although they won't contain as much caffeine. Mix coffee and cocoa powder in a bowl. Add the dairy product and stir until a smooth paste forms.  Stir in the honey(I like to warm up the honey in a warm water bath or in the microwave so it mixes better). Apply the paste to your clean face and neck.  Let the mask dry. Wet a washcloth and press it to your face to loosen the mask, then rinse with warm water. If you have sensitive skin, you should avoid rubbing your face because the coffee grounds could potentially scratch your skin. It's really up to you, you'll get a feel for what your skin can take and how finely ground the coffee is. You can store the leftover paste in the refrigerator for several days.

6.Lemon and Milk Face Mask

Milk is a natural source of alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), and AHAs are commonly used in skincare to reduce wrinkles or signs of aging, and improving overall skin texture and smoothness. How does it work? By exfoliating the outermost layer of the skin, leaving a blemish-free skin that’s smooth like a baby’s bottom. You can make your own anti-aging mask using 1 tablespoon full cream milk, 2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 slice of lemon. Then, mix the lemon juice and the milk and stir well. Throw in the lemon slice. It will curdle slightly, but don’t worry — it’s supposed to look funny. Leave it for 3-4 hours to cold, but not in the fridge. Apply it very carefully on a clean face, taking care to avoid the eyes.  Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse well.

Also, I highly recommend to use a brush to apply the face mask, like the one in the photo below.

So I hope I helped you and I will see you next week!! Don't forget to follow by email my blog and send me your reviews about the face masks! I would love to see them! <3
